Public Mobile Referral Code 2026: What It's Worth Right Now

Updated 2026-07-14 · fact-checked against official Public Mobile sources

Every Public Mobile referral code in 2026 gives a new customer the same one-time $10 account credit, applied within 4–8 weeks of activation, on any plan. No bonus promotion is active as of July 13, 2026 — the last bonus rounds ran in 2025. Enter the code in the Referral Code field at Step 4 (Payment).

What a referral code is worth in 2026

Every Public Mobile referral code gives the exact same thing this year: a one-time $10 account credit for the new customer, applied within 4–8 weeks of activation. It works on any plan — from the $20/1GB plan to the $50/175GB 5G plan. There’s no minimum spend.

That means there is no “best” code for 2026. Codes don’t carry different values, they never expire while the owner’s account is active, and any number of people can use the same one. When you see a site promising “up to $40” or “up to $50,” it’s recycling numbers from promotions that ended in 2025 — or making them up.

The person whose code you use earns 1 Public Point every 30 days for as long as you stay a customer (1 point = $1 when redeemed). It costs you nothing and doesn’t change your price.

Two quick mechanics, covered fully in the how-to guide:

Is a referral bonus running right now?

No. As of July 13, 2026, the standard $10 credit is the entire new-customer offer.

One bonus round has run in 2026: June 5 – July 7, 2026, in which referrers earned a $10 bonus credit per referral (limit five) plus an entry to win a year of service. Before that, the September 17 – October 6, 2025 round paid referrers a $10 bonus on $35+ plans (limit five). In both rounds the new customer got the regular $10 — the friend-side amount has never changed.

When a new round starts, we update this page and the current offer tracker — usually the same day Public Mobile announces it on its community forum.

2026 changelog, month by month

January – March 2026. Quiet on the referral front: standard $10 credit, no bonus rounds. Plans kept rotating near-monthly, all labelled “limited time” — normal for Public Mobile.

April 2026. Big plan revamp to match Freedom’s pricing, headlined by $40/100GB and $45/175GB tiers. The referral credit was unchanged and applies to every tier. Around the same time, TELUS began inserting “Fast Switch” ads for Koodo inside the Public Mobile signup and login flow. This matters: some referred friends have clicked through and ended up activating on Koodo, where referral codes do not work. Stay on publicmobile.ca the whole way through — more on this in the fix guide.

June 2026. The PMDATA10 promo code (10GB of free data) ended June 26 — while it ran, it stacked with a referral code because the two fields are separate.

July 2026. The June 5 – July 7 referrer bonus round closed on July 7 — referrers earned $10 per referral (limit five) plus a contest entry, while the friend got the standard $10 throughout. The mid-July lineup: $22 talk & text, 4G from $24/5GB to $30/35GB, 5G from $35/50GB to $50/150GB.

August 2026. The whole lineup was replaced. The talk-and-text-only plan is gone — unlimited talk and text is now bundled into every data plan — 10GB went $26 → $28, the top three 5G tiers gained data (70 → 75GB, 100 → 125GB, 150 → 175GB), and two tiers were added: $20/1GB as a Back to School offer, and $35/25GB with Canada-US-Mexico calling. The lineup now runs $20/1GB to $50/175GB. The referral credit was untouched: still $10, still any plan, and no bonus round has run since July 7. Public Mobile changes plans near-monthly, so check the plans page for today’s list.

What changed from 2025

2025 was a much busier year, which is why so many pages still quote its numbers:

Net change for 2026 so far: the friend’s ceiling fell from $25 back to the long-run $10, and referrer bonuses have been shorter and rarer.

What to expect for the rest of 2026

This is informed speculation, clearly flagged as such — Public Mobile announces promos with little warning and no fixed calendar. But the pattern since 2025 is consistent:

Practical takeaway: if you need a plan now, don’t wait weeks hoping to beat $10 — the odds aren’t good, and plan prices change more often than referral bonuses appear. If you’re switching carriers anyway, take the $10, and stack a promo code if one is live.

Already activated without a code? Act quickly — an agent can add it retroactively. And once you’re in, you get your own code to share: here’s how referring works from the other side.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a Public Mobile referral bonus right now (July 2026)?

No. As of August 31, 2026, the standard offer applies: a one-time $10 credit for the new customer. The most recent bonus round ran June 5 – July 7, 2026 and has ended. We track any new round on our current offer page.

Is any 2026 referral code better than another?

No. Every code gives the identical $10 credit — including the one on this page. Sites advertising 'up to $40' or 'up to $50' are quoting expired 2025 promotions or inventing numbers.

Do Public Mobile referral codes expire in 2026?

No. A code stays valid as long as the person who owns it remains an active Public Mobile customer, and unlimited new customers can use the same code.

Can I still use the PMDATA10 promo code?

No — PMDATA10 (10GB of free data) ended June 26, 2026. Promo codes come and go; referral codes are a separate field and the $10 credit is always available. See our promo code page for what's live now.

I activated without a referral code. Is it too late?

Not necessarily. A Public Mobile support agent can add a code retroactively through a support ticket — you'll need the referrer's name, phone number, and their code. Our step-by-step guide covers it.

Will the $25 referral deal come back in 2026?

Nobody outside Public Mobile knows. The $25 friend credit only ever existed during three short windows in May–July 2025. History suggests short bonus rounds around big plan launches and seasonal switching periods, but that's an educated guess, not a promise.
