How We Verify Every Number on This Site

Updated 2026-07-14 · fact-checked against official Public Mobile sources

We run Public Mobile's online activation to Step 4 (Payment) and confirm the referral code shown on this site is accepted in the Referral Code field — most recently on July 14, 2026. We cross-check every amount — currently a one-time $10 credit for new customers — against official announcements, and log every check with its date, including the rounds where we re-verified the published facts without repeating the checkout test.

Why we bother

Referral-code sites have a trust problem. Some advertise “up to $40” or “up to $50” in credits by quietly adding up bonus promos that have since ended — the most recent closed July 7, 2026. The truth as of August 2026 is simpler: a referral code gets a new Public Mobile customer a one-time $10 credit, and every valid code gives that exact same amount. We would rather be accurate than exciting, so we follow a fixed routine — and we show our work below.

What a full check covers

We aim to run this every month. The log below gives the real dates — including the rounds where we only got part of the way through. A full check is:

  1. Run a real activation to Step 4. We start a fresh activation on publicmobile.ca, pick a plan, and continue to Step 4 (Payment). We confirm the “Referral Code” field is still there, still separate from the “Promo code” field, and that the code shown on this site is accepted without an error. Then we stop before paying — no test accounts are created.
  2. Test the referral link. We open the deep-link format (publicmobile.ca/en/{province}/plans?referral=CODE) and confirm the code pre-fills at checkout.
  3. Re-check every dollar amount. We compare our pages against Public Mobile’s Refer-a-Friend help article and the Announcements board on the official community forum.
  4. Refresh the plan lineup. Public Mobile changes plans near-monthly, so anything price-related on our plans page gets re-verified too.

Where our numbers come from

We only treat Public Mobile’s own posts as proof. The core facts on this site trace to official announcements, including:

When an official post and community hearsay disagree, the official post wins. When our page and an official post disagree, our page is wrong and gets fixed.

No checkout test this round — see the note below.Plan lineup replaced: the talk-and-text-only plan is discontinued, 10GB went $26→$28, the top three 5G tiers gained data, and $20/1GB and $35/25GB were added (changelog). Standard $10 new-customer credit confirmed; 1 Public Point per 30 days referrer reward confirmed; no bonus promo active. Credit timeline corrected from “72 hours” to 4–8 weeks, matching Public Mobile’s posted terms (“Bill credits will appear on your account 4-8 weeks after activation”). A June 5 – July 7, 2026 referrer bonus round was found in those terms and logged retroactively.

About the August 2026 round: it re-verified every published amount, the plan lineup and the promo status against Public Mobile’s own pages, but did not reach the payment step — so the code itself was not re-tested at checkout that month. We said so at the time rather than let a log row imply a test we had not run. The checkout test was run on September 1, 2026 and the code was accepted; that row is at the top of the log.

The evidence from the most recent checkout test (July 14, 2026):

Public Mobile popup after opening a referral link: 'You received a referral credit — a friend gave you a $10 credit when you join Public Mobile. Your referral credit will automatically be applied after activating your account.'
Opening the referral link — Public Mobile confirms the $10 credit immediately.

The Payment step: the "Referral Code" field (boxed) with the code applied — a separate field from "Promotional Code".

New rows are added after every check we run, full or partial. Offer changes between checks are recorded on the current offer page the day we confirm them. We don’t log tests we haven’t done.

Corrections

If you spot an error — a stale plan price, a promo we missed, a step that no longer matches the checkout — tell us through the contact page. We verify against official sources and aim to publish confirmed corrections within two days, with the change dated. If something goes wrong when you try to use a code, our fix guide covers the common causes.

One more piece of transparency: the referrer behind the code on this site earns 1 Public Point per 30 days for each active referral. That never changes what you get — the $10 credit is identical with any valid code. Full details are on how we earn.

Frequently asked questions

How often do you test the referral code?

We aim for monthly, and we log the real date of each check. The most recent checkout test was July 14, 2026. The August 31, 2026 round re-checked every amount, the plan lineup and the promo status against Public Mobile's own pages, but did not run the activation to Step 4 — so the code was not re-tested at checkout that month. The verification log on this page records what was and was not tested each round.

Why do some other sites promise more than $10?

They usually add up bonus promos that have since ended — three $15 rounds in 2025, a $10 referrer round in September 2025, and a $10 referrer round that closed July 7, 2026 — and advertise the total as if it were current. As of August 2026 the standard offer is a one-time $10 credit, and every valid code gives the identical amount.

What happens when Public Mobile changes the offer?

We update the affected pages, refresh their modified date, and record the change with a date on the current offer page.

How do I report a mistake?

Send it through the contact page. We check the claim against official Public Mobile sources and aim to correct confirmed errors within two days.

Do you earn anything when someone uses the code on this site?

Yes — the referrer behind the code earns 1 Public Point per 30 days for each active referral. Your $10 credit is the same either way. Details are on how we earn.
